You may feel like you can’t fall any further, but our hope that God will send freedom may come at the weirdest times. Our anchor in Jesus and His promises always suppress our fears, depression, and worries. God is the only true foundation for our lives and the only One able to give us true Hope! Look beyond the cloud over your head! God will turn your situation around. Hold on to Jesus even in your hardest days. The world will not overthrow you, and depression, fear, and worry will not defeat you. Have hope in your Anchor, which is The Lord Jesus Christ!

Part 1

Welcome to our new series Anchor. We believe that the only way to freedom in our lives is having Jesus as the Anchor of our lives.
God is so proud of you! Often in times of depression, loneliness, and fear can leave us isolated and ashamed with no motivation to find help. Recognizing the fact that you are struggling is a great first step!  If you experience any troubles in your walk, did you know you’re not alone? People have been struggling with all sorts of different things for centuries. Not one person can say I have it all together while trusting God, the foundation of our salvation is faith and trust in His sufficiency, not our own. Don’t get down on yourself because your struggling! Trust in your Anchor!

Part 2

God doesn’t need us, but He chooses to use us! Depression, fear, and worry could be a reminder to trust His ways, and continue in His works because He has a plan for your life. God doesn’t care who you are or where you come from because He loves you no matter what, you are His child! Come out of the darkness of your greatest insecurities just as you are, and step into the fullness of God’s amazing love!  When you admit that you can’t do anything without your Anchor you then start to have a different outlook and things start to get a little bit better!

Part 3

We have the ability to shine light in darkness without any physical form of illumination. Simply by the power of our salvation, we conquer darkness. Light is a representation of life itself. Letting your light go out is the beginning of a slippery slope of forgetting the power of life. Depression will not kill you, but giving up can. Live and shine! Depression is a shadow in comparison to the light of our salvation. There is no middle ground. Darkness comes when you forget about the power of the light inside of you! You have the power you need through Jesus Christ and you will fight until your victory comes. You can turn on the light of my salvation that will overpower the dark cloud of depression. God gives us perseverance to fight even when we’re tired! So never give up and keep trusting in your Anchor!

Part 4

There are days in our walk with Jesus where we may very well struggle to believe. In the Bible we read of stories where even people speaking face to face with Jesus struggled to believe Him in the midst of their circumstance. However, in the midst of all of our problems and in our struggle to keep believing, God promises to strengthen our faith if we ask Him! He promises to help pick us up. When we’re struggling to keep going, He promises to encourage us along the way. So, in the midst of doubtful moments, and in the midst of times that feel uncertain, know that God is close to you, and know that He is still your Anchor, through it all.

Part 5

As a kid, we got scared of the dark.  For most of us we didn’t believe it was darkness itself, but the feeling of the unknown. We would fear that something would get us or was watching us. Often times it is in the dark that most people feel afraid, but in the case of depression, darkness becomes something of normality. The feeling of being alone is too familiar. Fear can come and cripple your mind, but this darkness and sadness you feel is not in control, you are! God speaks many times about the power of light especially in battle with the dark. Confront the dark gloomy feeling that fights against you. Mentally Turn on the Light of your spirit and remind yourself that in Christ, you are empowered to out power the darkness! No more darkness means no more hiding the light. So, hold on to Jesus even in the depths of the ocean. The waves will not overcome you and depression will not defeat you. Have hope in your Anchor.

Part 6

God gave us a way out of every mess we could every make, hope in any situation, and healing for every broken place inside of us when He sent His only and only Son Jesus. Jesus was the ultimate sacrifice and payment for all our sins and because of that, we can experience total freedom in every area of our lives. Today, if there is a place inside your heart that you have been hiding or ignoring, run straight to Jesus! Call on His Name! In His Presence you will find all that you are looking for and needing. If you find yourself feeling lost to find the words or too weary to lift your hands, remember that there is so much power in the name of Jesus. Just speak out His name and watch the atmosphere change as you turn your attention and affection to Him. He’s a loving Father who responds to His children and where His Spirit is, there is freedom! - Kim Walker Smith

Part 7

The process of being broken will test your faith. It is the people that chose to recognize they are breaking and chose to give everything to God that see the supernatural happen. God doesn’t need anything from us to do the supernatural, but when we give ourselves to Him, we can see just how much God cares about our hearts. He is constantly designing us! Depression can bring such a feeling of brokenness and helplessness. It is when you chose to surrender the hurt and sorrow to God that we can start seeing the light at the end of the tunnel. Sometimes we end up blaming God for painful things that have happened to us or that we have experienced. We end up with a lot of questions, offended hearts, and a demand for answers. I Hope that your hunger and desperation for Jesus would outweigh all of that. The truth is, He is the only answer that satisfies. Oftentimes, when there is something broken inside of us or we find ourselves in a mess because of our own poor decisions, we have a tendency to run the opposite direction of Jesus. Afraid of punishment or afraid of not being found worthy, we try to hide the dark places in our hearts. But Jesus is a kind and compassionate Father who meets us right where we are, when we surrender to Him. He calls us to step out of the shadows, and run straight towards Him. He is not afraid of the mess or the pain. Only in Him our Anchor do we find complete freedom and wholeness.
